Manager of Cartoon Network quits

NEW YORK, Feb 10: The general manager of Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network resigned on Friday in the wake of a “guerrilla” advertising campaign that sparked a terrorism scare in much of central Boston on Jan 31.

The drive featured blinking electronic devices wired to battery packs and planted on transportation infrastructure, leading police to fear they were bombs.

“As general manager of Cartoon Network, I feel compelled to step down in recognition of the gravity of the situation that occurred under my watch,” he said in a statement.—Reuters
