BAHAWALPUR, Feb 9: A division bench of the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur circuit, suspended the implementation of the decision of union council 17 naib nazim Haji Zaheer regarding passage of no-trust motion against its nazim Malik Zamurrad Husain Channar.

The order was passed on Thursday on a writ petition of Mr Channar and fixed Feb 12 for further hearing.

The petitioner had submitted that the decision of naib nazim was illegal and should be cancelled.

Naib nazim had on Feb 1 in a press release claimed that the union council members in a special meeting adopted no-trust motion against the nazim for his involvement if corrupt practices.

GRANT: A grant of Rs100 million on behalf of President was released for the supply of gas in the remaining localities of the city.

According to city tehsil nazim Malik Zahid Mahmood Channar, the grant has been received.

The nazim expressed the hope that the SNGPL, which had already completed a survey, would soon begin work on the project.

He said an anti-encroachment squad headed by a municipal magistrate has been set up to carry out operation clean up on working days in the city to clear the bazaars of unlawful structures.

JUDICIAL COMPLEX: Justice Akhtar Shabbir has said that a judicial complex over an area of 600 kanals will soon be constructed here.

Addressing a function here, he said on the instructions of LHC chief justice he inspected the proposed site for the complex.

He said the complex would comprise high court, district courts, the subordinate judiciary and lawyers’ chambers.

RESULT: The Islamia University has announced the result of MA English of first annual examinations held in September/October.

According to result notification, 122 out of total 424 candidates have been got through the examination, showing a pass percentage of 77.28.
