MIRPURKHAS, Feb 9: Two passengers were killed and 12 injured when a Thari passenger truck overturned near Mominabad Hotel on Umerkot-Chhachhro road on Friday.

The accident occurred because the driver lost control over the truck due to over speeding.

As a result, Narain Bheel, 45, and Kastooro Kolhi, 23, died on the spot and Murad Ali, Sono, Vermo, Partab, Herchand, Ms Jeevni, Ms Mota and others received injuries. The police shifted the bodies and those injured to the Chhachhro Taluka Hospital where those injured were admitted.

In another incident, six persons, including a minor girl, were seriously injured when two speedy cars collided head-on near Sindhri on Thursday night.

Those injured were identified as Sughra, Salma, Khalid, Rajesh Kumar, Jhamandas and minor girl Vidya. They were taken to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital where they were admitted.

VICTIMISATION: People’s Party Parliamentarians’ MNA Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani, Mirpurkhas district president Haji Noor Hassan Chandio and others have expressed concern over victimisation of PPP voters and supporters in Sindhri taluka by its nazim.

In a joint press statement, they said that at the behest of the taluka nazim, PPP supporters Abdul Samad Lashari and Aijaz Lashari had been implicated in fabricated case and their houses were being raided.

They said that PPP voters and supporters were not afraid of political victimisation.
