KARACHI, Feb 9: A 45-year-old man was shot dead in North Nazimabad on Friday by two carjackers, who also took away victim’s car.

Reports said Mukhtar Siddiqui, a property dealer, was intercepted by two bandits in Block-E. The bandits asked him to surrender his car to them. However, the man rolled up the car window and locked himself in.

The carjackers fired a bullet, which hit the man in his upper torso after smashing the pane. Then the two dragged him out and took away his Honda Civic.

The victim, father of two girls, was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in a critical condition. He later died in the hospital.

BEATEN TO DEATH: A suspected robber was beaten to death by people in the New Karachi Industrial Area.

The police said two dacoits were caught red-handed by the people at Godhra Camp. One of them died and his accomplice was injured when people severely beat them.

The dead and the wounded were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where the dead was identified as Fahim and the injured as Altaf, both residents of New Karachi Sector 5-E. Police said the two were trying to loot people near Farooq Medical Store when area people overpowered them.
