Wasim, Babar shine for Pindi

LAHORE, Feb 7: Mohammad Wasim and Babar Naeem hit half-centuries as Rawalpindi piled up 330 against Lahore Shalimar on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League fixture at the LCCA Ground on Wednesday.

Wasim scored 75 with 10 boundaries while Babar hit 63 with two sixes and five fours as Rawalpindi overcame a shaky. Yasim Murtaza (42, five fours, one six) and Najaf Shah also made useful contributions while putting on 66 for the last wicket.

Lahore Shalimar, who are on verge of being relegated to Silver League next season, were 15 for one at close of play.
