HONG KONG, Feb 20: “Rush Hour” star Jackie Chan has been injured performing a stunt on the set of his new movie, a news report said Wednesday.

The 47-year-old action star, who insists on performing all his own stunts, suffered facial injuries in the accident on set Monday near Bangkok, the South China Morning Post reported.

He is believed to have suffered bruises and a cut on the face after falling while performing a stunt for the film “Highbinders”, a 35-million-US-dollar Hong Kong-produced film co-starring “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” star Zhang Ziyi.

The film’s associate producer Bey Logan told the newspaper: “It’s certainly not serious, ... and it’s not a permanent injury.”

Chan spent four hours in hospital but was believed to be back on set by Tuesday.

Chan had his big Hollywood breakthrough in the action comedies “Rush Hour” and “Rush Hour Two”, in which he starred alongside US actor Chris Tucker.—dpa
