Karachi, Feb 6: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Jehangir Mirza Tuesday directed the CCPO Karachi and RPO Hyderabad to take strict security measures to maintain law and order situation and ensure safety of life and properity of citizens during by-polls at NA-250 in Karachi and PS-71 in Jamshoro.

The provincial police chief also directed all concerned TPOs and DPOs to take proper security arrangements for making by-polls free, fair and transparent and to ensure deployment of police officials at all polling stations in both the constituencies.

He asked police officers to remain present in the polling areas and personally check the deployment of police officials.

He urged them to take proper security measures according to rules and regulations of Election Commission of Pakistan.

Jehangir Mirza warned that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard and departmental action would be taken against those found guilty.
