LAKKI MARWAT, Feb 4: A day after a bomb blast killed a person, another terrorism bid was foiled as a bomb disposal squad defused a locally made explosive device here on Sunday

Officials said police and FC personnel rushed to the area and cordoned off the site. A bomb disposal squad was called from Bannu which defused the device.

The official said the bomb weighed four kilograms and it had been planted in an open field opposite the Faqeeran market. The device contained a gas cylinder, gunpowder, a wire, steel nails and a detonator, they said.Experts said the device could have caused a huge destruction had it exploded because a weekly fair was held on Sunday.

The Lakki Marwat police registered a case against unidentified people under section 5 of the Explosives Act 7, ATA. Meanwhile, a team was formed to probe Saturday’s bomb explosion.
