HYDERABAD, Feb 2: The district government was going to hold its second annual flower exhibition in first week of March, said DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed at a meeting at Shahbaz Hall on Thursday.

EDO (agriculture) Shahabuddin Siddiqui, district officer (forest) Habibullah Nizamani, director (sericulture) Dr Abid Ali, flower growers and representatives of nurseries participated in the meeting to discuss measure to make the exhibition a success.

The DCO said that scope of exhibition had been enlarged this year and now in addition to nurseries and flower growers, government, semi-government and autonomous bodies and representatives of private sector had been invited to participate in the event. Besides, he added, gardening in houses had been included in the competition.

He said that the competition would be divided into different categories and each category would get three prizes, adding that a special prize would be given to the best stall in public sector.

The meeting formed committees on site and exhibition, transport, security and award and directed the committee heads and members to complete their tasks in two weeks.

The meeting also decided to arrange puppet show, stalls of handicraft and food street as incentive to visitors, specially women and children. The DCO asked the EDO (agriculture) to arrange documentary show on flowers and make different seeds with informative literature available at the exhibition.
