ISLAMABAD, Feb 1: Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood hit 105 to help Islamabad reach 314 against Multan in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League tie at the Diamond Club Ground on Thursday.

Azhar stroked 12 boundaries in his 137-ball innings and put on 112 for the fifth-wicket with debutant Asadullah Sumari (49).

Opener Atif Ashraf was forced to retired hurt early in his innings after being struck a painful blow in the lower abdominal area by fast bowler Abdur Rauf.

Multan, who need at least three points from this game to confirm their place in the final, closed the first day of the four-day fixture at 26 for one.
