Eight captives injured in scuffle

SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 1: As many as eight prisoners sustained injuries during a scuffle between two groups of inmates here on Thursday at local jail.

Reports said jail officials were frisking prisoners who had been brought from Gujranwala jail when they fell out with one another.

However, the situation was controlled by jail staffers, police and elite force.

The injured have been identified as Suleman, Imran, Javed, Akmal, Rashad, Irfan, Shakil and Bilal.

On the complaint of the jail superintendent, B-division police are investigating.
