BAHAWALNAGAR, Feb 1: The Donga Bonga police arrested on Thursday Maqbool and Aslam, two brothers who had allegedly killed their sister Elahi Sen and her paramour Ghulam Nabi Shah, on Monday night.

The accused told police that someone was in the room of their sister. They entered the room and asked her for lantern. They found Ghulam Nabi hiding under the bed. They pulled him out from under the bed, Aslam bit his nose and they gave him severe beating and crushed his head with bricks. After confirming his death, they attacked their sister and crushed her head with bricks.

They said Ghulam Nabi was a criminal. He had developed illicit relations with their sister. They had warned him time and again to stop meeting their sister.

Meanwhile, Bahawalnagar DPO Zafar Bokhari visited the village and got information from the people.

He said Elahi Sen, 45, was married to her cousin on watta satta basis (exchange marriage) and gave birth to three children. The wife of Ghulam Nabi got divorce from him for his bad character and illicit relations with Elahi Sen.

The DPO said Aslam and Maqbool courted arrest after committing the crime.

He claimed that certain news agencies twisted the story.
