KARACHI, Feb 1: MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday said the alliance of political and religious parties against the Mutthaida Qaumi Movement for the NA-250 by- election has resulted in the moral victory of the party.

He said the MQM would face all challenges courageously during the by-poll as its workers had always come up to the mark.

Mr Husain was speaking through the telephone to party workers and leaders at the central election camp of the MQM here on Thursday evening.

He said the MQM workers had always faced tough challenges successfully.

He pointed out that the MQM had done tremendous job in serving the victims of the Octobor 8, 2005 earthquake in the NWPF and in Azad Kashmir, which was lauded all over the world.

He also said that CDGK Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil had taken practical steps to start many development projects for the welfare of the city people.

He said that people of the city were witness to on-going development projects and the CDGK had done record development works in 50 years of the country’s history.

He said the MQM wanted to start development projects allover the country on the pattern of Karachi and wanted to abolish the feudal system and culture from the country.

MQM-nominated candidate Syed Akhlaq Hussain Abidi and Shahida Naz were also present on the occasion along with others.

KAMAL PRAISED: MQM Chief Altaf Husain has said that the fast pace OF developmental work taking place in Karachi is reflective of the dedication of the Haq Parast leadership.

He was talking to City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal who visited the MQM international secretariat on his return from Davos after attending the World Economic Forum.

The city nazim told Altaf Husain that a network of underpasses, flyovers and roads was being spread across the city and these projects were being completed before their deadlines.

Due to its fast pace development Karachi received tremendous appreciation at the World Economic Forum and been ranked the 12th modern and developed city of the world, Mustafa Kamal said.

Appreciating the role of Mr Kamal in the progress of the city, Altaf Husain embraced him.

Mr Husain said that all responsible officials of the MQM, Haq Parast members of the National and provincial assemblies, advisers, nazims and naib nazims should dispense their duties with utmost honesty by following in the footsteps of Mustafa Kamal.
