QUETTA, Jan 31: Justice Mehta Kalash Nath Kohli, vacation judge of Balochistan High Court, has ordered the provincial home secretary and inspector-general of Balochistan prisons that BNP-M secretary-general Habib Jalib Baloch should be given a separate room or if he is seriously ill he should be shifted to the ICU unit.

The court issued the orders on Wednesday during the hearing of a constitutional petition filed by Habib Jalib Baloch challenging his detention.

The judge ordered the medical superintendent of the Quetta civil hospital that the petitioner should be provided all medical facilities.

The court accepted the submission of the counsel of the petitioner directing the quarters concerned that blood relatives and counsel should be allowed to meet him.

Mr Baloch was detained by the Gwadar district police officer on Nov 30 for one month and shifted to Loralai, but later the detention was extended for another month.

The court on Jan 19, on the report of medical board, ordered to shift the petitioner to the combined military hospital in Quetta from Loralai, however he was admitted to civil hospital. The hearing was adjourned till Feb 13.
