Plea to shift paper mills from city

GUJRANWALA, Jan 31: The treasury and opposition members of Khiali Shahpur town council adopted a unanimous resolution and demanded that all paper mills working in the city should be shifted out of the city to avoid environment pollution without any delay.

A meeting held here on Wednesday with naib nazim Raza Mustafa in the chair, said the mills was polluting environment and the residents were facing a great inconvenience.

It may be remembered that residents of the town, including women, had surrounded a paper mill, dragged its owner on road and damaged equipment for spreading pollution a few years ago.

ACCIDENT: A boy was run over by a wagon on GT Road when he was following a stray kite on Wednesday.

Arshad, 10, was running on the road for catching a kite when a speeding wagon crushed him.
