LAHORE, Jan 31: An eighth class student was electrocuted when he tried to catch a stray kite with an iron rod in Cavalry Ground area here on Tuesday. Hamza (13) of Iqraba Park, who was flying a kite on the rooftop of his house, tried to catch the stray kite with the help of an iron rod that touched the 11,000kv power lines. As a result, he received severe shock, burnt and died instantly. The deceased’s father, Zulfikar, is a labourer.
STABBED TO DEATH: A young man was allegedly stabbed to death by his fellow over a monetary dispute in Faisal Town area on Tuesday.
Police said Muhammad Usman, 25, of Kamaliya and Allah Yar of Sargodha, were employees of a wholesale store in Model Town Extension. Usman had borrowed money from Allah Yar, but he did not return the amount. On Tuesday, Allah Yar demanded his money back, but Usman refused to pay. After some harsh arguments, Yar attacked Usman with a knife and killed him on the spot.
KILLED: Two brothers with the help of their brother-in-law reportedly killed their neighbour when he asked them not to peeping into his house in Manawan area.
Police said Allah Wasaya, 24, of Tez Gargh village, had suspected that his neighbour Hafeez used to peeping into his house from the roof. On Tuesday, Allah Wasaya and Hafeez exchanged abuses over the issue and later Hafeez along with his brother Rafique and brother-in-law injured Wasaya seriously with clubs. Later, he died while being shifted to Ghurki Hospital.
The police arrested Hafeez and Ali and registered a murder case against them.
DIES: A labourer died under mysterious circumstances in Kot Lakhpat area on Wednesday.
The police, however, claimed that Muhammad Hanif (42), a labourer at the vegetable market, often used to consume drugs. Hanif, a father of four children, was rushed to General Hospital on the complaint of some pain in his body, but he could not survive.
CRUSHED: A man was crushed to death by a train in Shahdara area on Wednesday.
Police said that Asif Shah, 50, of Pasroor, was crossing the track near Jehangir’s tomb when he met an accident.
FOUND DEAD: An unidentified man was found dead on the premises of railway station here on Wednesday.
Police said the man, in his 30s, seemed to be an addict.
While another man was found dead in Lohari area. Police said the person, aged about 40, looked to be an addict and might have died of cold. The bodies were removed to the city mortuary for autopsy. — Reporter
