LARKANA, Jan 31: Unknown people burnt down and took away portraits of President Musharraf, Sindh Chief Minister and Provincial Minister Altaf Unnar from different parts of the city late on Tuesday night.

The portraits had been put up at Lahori Regulator, Shiakh Zayed Turning and Kamal Ataturk Memorial, police said.

Deputy Inspector General of Police on Wednesday formed a team comprising DPO Mohammed Azim Tunio and SP (investigation) Nisar Channa to probe into the incident.

Baboo Ghulam Serwar Siyal, chairman of district health monitoring committee pointed the finger at People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) at a press conference the same day.

But PPP District President MPA Ayaz Soomro dismissed the allegation as unfounded and untrue. “We don’t believe in such politics,” he said.
