ISLAMABAD, Jan 27: Prices of 13 kitchen items registered an upward trend during the week ended Jan 26, 2006, statistics division said on Saturday. Most of the products, which recorded upward trend in prices included ghee/oil, chicken farm and pulses.
Weekly inflation measured through sensitive price index indicated that prices of manufactured products witnessed a steady increase during the last few week, resultantly putting a burden on the monthly budget of the low-income group.
Official figures released here by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) showed that price of chicken increased by 3.96pc to Rs64.35 per kg as against Rs61.90.
An increase of 1.50pc was witnessed in the price of red chillies, which stood at Rs99.79per kg during the week under review as against Rs98.32.
The vegetable ghee (tin) price increased by 1.39pc to Rs227.41 per 2.5 kg from Rs224.29, moong (washed) witnessed an increase of 1.13pc to Rs56.47 per kg as against Rs55.84 per kg.
Mustard oil prices increased by 1.03pc to Rs79.50 per kg as against Rs78.69, cooking oil tin price increased by 1.02pc to Rs227.44 per 2.5 litre from Rs225.15.Gram (washed) was up 0.58pc to Rs46.97 per kg as against Rs46.70, masoor (washed) 0.45pc to Rs46.87 per kg as against Rs46.66, mutton 0.26pc to Rs223.45 per kg as against Rs222.86.
The price of firewood increased by 0.21pc to Rs195.46 per 40 kg as against Rs195.06, wheat 0.08pc to Rs12.48 per kg as against Rs12.47, mash (washed) 0.07pc to Rs69.84 per kg as against Rs69.79 and egg hen by 0.05pc to Rs40.73 per dozen as against Rs40.71.
