KARACHI, Jan 26: A law and order situation was created in the electronics market along Abdullah Haroon Road when some court officials along with a police force tried to evict the tenant from a shop showing the court’s orders on Friday.

Witnesses said some officials from Sessions Courts along with a party of Preedy Police Station, reached shop no. 26 of Al-Haroon Market located on Abdullah Haroon Road.

They told the salesmen that a court had issued a degree against the shop owner Ayesha Bai wife of Abdullah and in favour of the building’s owner, Mian Pervez Akhtar. They asked the salesmen to vacate the premises.

Witnesses said this enraged the other shopkeepers who claimed that the shop’s proprietor was not aware of any such case. They closed their shops and took to streets.

Some people also tried to block the roads and engaged in a brawl with the police. The Karachi Electronics Dealers Association’s President Abdul Waheed Memon and other office-bearers reached the spot and helped restore peace.
