MIRPURKHAS, Jan 25: Panic gripped the entire police force of Mirpurkhas when an abandoned briefcase was found near the main gate of police lines on Thursday. The police officers became confused and immediately called in the bomb disposal squad to check the suspected briefcase.

The town police received the information regarding the mysterious briefcase which was lying on M. A. Jinnah Road near main gate of the Police Lines.

A heavy contingent of police surrounded the area and banned the movement of people and called the bomb disposal squad. An official of bomb disposal squad examined the briefcase and shifted it to the Town police station.

The police officials took a sigh of relief when the bomb disposal squad recovered only some documents from the briefcase.

SUICIDE: A married woman committed suicide in Bhai Khan Gurgez village, taluka Jhuddo, on Wednesday.

Binalchi 22, wife of Kasturo Kolhi, sprinkled kerosene oil and set herself on fire.

As a result, she sustained serious burn injuries and was rushed to the Jhuddo hospital where she died.

The motive behind the suicide is said to be some domestic affair.
