Massive traffic jam on highway

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 24: Commuters had to face tremendous difficulties on the National Highway as vehicular traffic remained suspended for more than 10 hours due to an accident near Kandiaro bypass on Wednesday.

One of the tracks of the highway, linking Karachi with upcountry, has already been closed due to construction work.

The accident took place between a coal-laden truck and an oil tanker as a result hundreds of vehicles remained trapped on both sides of the highway.

The Motorway Police officials reached on the site but failed to restore smooth flow of traffic. A patrolling officer said that the efforts to restore traffic were taking time due to non-cooperation of the drivers.
