MQM delegation calls on Aziz

ISLAMABAD, Jan 23: A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Tuesday met Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to discuss with him issues relating to Sindh and to vent their grievances, sources said.

MQM deputy convener MNA Dr Farooq Sattar led the delegation that comprised federal ministers Shamim Siddiqui and Babar Khan Ghouri, provincial minister Adil Siddiqui, Sindh Assembly member Mohammad Hussain, Hyderabad District Nazim Kanwar Naveed, Sukkur District Nazim Naeem Siddiqui, Mirpurkhas District Nazim Ghulam Dastgir and Nawabshah District Nazim Abdul Rauf.

Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said the Pakistan Muslim League and the MQM would continue to work together to serve people, improve their standard of living and raise the prestige and strength of the country domestically, regionally and globally.

He said the PML and its coalition partners would contest the next general election from a single platform on the basis of their performance.

According to an official handout, the MQM leaders appreciated the government’s recent decision of reducing POL prices.

The meeting also discussed various matters relating to federal and Sindh governments, including the political situation in the country.
