MIRPURKHAS, Feb 19: Some investors who had decided to set up units in the industrial estate of the Sindh Small Industries Corporation, Mirpurkhas, had not been given approval of the building plan.
They had completed various formalities by paying different fee and taxes. Their cases were sent to the head office for approval of the building plan but despite one and half years, approval of the building plan had not been given.
An industrialist Haji Abdul Ghafoor Mehar held responsible the officers of the Sindh Small Industries Corporation for creating problems for the industrialists.
He demanded of the authorities not to delay the approval otherwise the investors were likely to abandon their projects.
ADB: The Asian Development Bank will carry out development works in five districts of the province, including Mirpurkhas, under the rural development programme.
A four-member delegation of the bank, led by Ms Karian Osold, is currently visiting these districts for the proposed projects and holding consultation with the area people to prepare the schemes.
This was stated by Ms Osold while speaking at a meeting held here on Monday.
She said that the purpose of consultation with the people of backward districts was to prepare feasible development schemes to eliminate poverty.
SHOPPING CENTRE: The Mirpurkhas taluka council has approved a plan to construct Khisakpura Shopping Centre in Mirpurkhas to raise its income.
This was decided at a meeting of the council held here on Monday.
The meeting was told that the municipal committee would earn Rs9.4 million from the project while Rs1 million would be spent on the scheme.
Through a resolution, the meeting demanded to carry out immediate spray to eliminate mosquitoes in the city.
The meeting further demanded to provide basic facilities to the girls schools of rural and urban areas.
The taluka council meeting was presided by Naib Nazim Javed Papa.
STOLE: Some unknown persons broke the locks of a courier service office (Mirpurkhas TCS branch) at New Town here on late Monday night and took away seven cartons of medicines placed in a room for dispatching forward.
Shahid Ali, manager of the branch, has lodged an FIR with the Town police against the unknown persons.
