LAKKI MARWAT, Jan 23: Workers of the Awami National Party here on Tuesday took out a procession in protest against power loadshedding in the area.

Led by district party president Sadruddin Khan, the protesters marched on the main road and after passing through various bazaars reached the Bacha Khan Chowk.

They chanted slogans against Wapda and warned that they would besiege offices of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company and the 132kv Serai Naurang grid station if the loadshedding was not stopped.

They demanded installation of a new transformer in the area to end the loadshedding.

They said the government should set up a power generation plant in Gurguri, Karak, and operate it with locally-produced natural gas to generate electricity and meet requirements of the district.
