PESHAWAR, Jan 22: District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali, under section 144 CrPC, on Monday banned the entry of certain Ulema in the city district with a view to ensuring peace in the area.

Those barred from entering Peshawar are: Maulana S. Chiraghud Din (Sindh), Maulana Ali Sher (Khairpur), Maulana Abdur Rehman (Abbottabad), Maulana Mansoor Paracha (Kohat), Maulana Mansoor Rehman (Charsadda), Maulana Abdul Qadir (Mansehra), Maulana Khadim Hussain Dhelvi (Khaniwal), Maulana Mahmood Abbasi (Karachi), Kifayat Hussain (Azad Kashmir), Syed Haider Abbass (Karachi), Allam Haider Jawadi (Sindh), Allama Abdul Hakim Turabi, (Karachi), Allama Sajid Naqvi (Rawalpindi).

The nazim had also banned pillion riding, wall chalking and distribution of objectionable posters in the district.

The orders would remain enforced for seven days with immediate effect.—APP
