PESHAWAR, Jan 20: Government Girls High School Thana defeated Government Girls High School Skhakot by seven wickets in the PCB National Inter-school Girls Cricket Tournament at the BISE ground on Saturday.

Electing to bat first, Skhakot School scored 86 before being dismissed off 24.3 overs. Skipper and opening batswoman Shabana made a quick 23 off 13 balls with three boundaries and a six. Hajra (17) and Urooj (11) were the other main contributors. For Thana school Madeeha got four wickets for 14 in 2.3 overs while Manahil got two.

In reply, Thana school reached the target for the loss of three wickets with Rukhsar remaining unbeaten on 38 while Naheed and Muskan getting 20 and 18 respectively.

In the second match GHSS No.1 Charsadda defeated GGHSS Dak Ismail Khan by 10 runs.

Choosing to bat first, GGHSS Charsadda scored 71 before being bowled out. Muneeba Rabi (36 off 30 balls with five boundaries), Sidra Lala (17) and Shakeela Naz (15) runs were the main scorers. For Dak Ismail Khan School Khair-un-Nisa claimed 4-23 in three overs and Intizara got 3-12.

In reply, GGHSS Dak Ismail Khan were bowled out for 59. Only Abida Gulab (15) and Intizara (14) could pose some resistance. For Charsadda Shakeela, Sumaya got three wickets each while Sumaya grabbed two.—APP
