KARACHI, Jan 20: While the KESC carried out one-hour suspension of power supply across the city on Saturday under its load-shedding exercise, people from many localities complained of frequent and prolonged power cut in their localities over the past 24 hours.
Residents of PECH Society said that they had experienced a whole day of power outage, pointing out that the supply had been suspended at 10am on Saturday and was still not restored, almost three hours after sunset. Shahid Mehmood and Abu Talib, speaking from the area, said that every time they contacted the KESC officials at the local centre, they evaded their questions about the reason for the prolonged suspension and the expected restoration.
Complaints of frequent disruption in power supply of more than one hour were received from different parts of the city. An Ittehad Town resident said the power went off for more than an hour in the morning, although the KESC had clearly stated that no load-shedding would be carried out during the daytime.
Electricity supply in Banaras remained suspended for more than two hours in a single span.
