The first blast took place in a busy commercial area in Tinsukia district, 540 kilometres east of Guwahati.

Police and witnesses said two people died on the spot and 13 were injured in the explosion.

Tinsukia district magistrate Absar Hazarika said the target of the attack was Hindi-speaking migrant workers who live in the area.
