Nauman gives KH lead

KARACHI, Jan 19: A skipper’s knock of 80 by Naumanullah earned Karachi Harbour lead on the first innings against Peshawar on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Friday.

Karachi Harbour ended the second day on 149 for four in reply to Peshawar’s 133.

Peshawar, who were 43 for three when only 17 overs were possible on Thursday, added another 90 runs to their overnight score. In fact, the hosts’ last four wickets went down for no run.

Wajahatullah Wasti, the former Test batsman, struck 12 fours in making an 88-ball 68, but found no one else to stay with him.

Ex-Pakistan Under-19 medium-pacer Uzair-ul-Haq bagged four for 37. Off-spinner Atif Maqbool claimed three for 17.

Karachi Harbour lost an early wicket before Khalid Latif (39) and Nauman added 109 to revive the innings. Nauman’s 91-ball knock contained 14 fours.
