ATTOCK, Jan 19: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) member of the Punjab Assembly Syed Ejaz Shah Bukhari has joined the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML). He made this announcement during a public meeting of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in Pindigheb on Friday. Attock District Nazim Maj (retired) Tahir Sadiq Khan, Minister of State for Environment Malik Amin Aslam, Punjab Cooperative Minister Col (retired) Malik Mohammad Anwar and other political figures were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bukhari asked the Punjab chief minister to announce sufficient funds for the uplift of Attock district. Later, on the insistence of the district nazim, Mr Bukhari raised the slogan ‘General Musharraf Zindabad’.

The chief minister, ministers, district nazim and other PML leaders welcomed Mr Bukhari’s decision and congratulated him on joining the PML.

Mr Bukhari’s decision to join the PML had been expected for the last couple of days.

Meanwhile, MMA Attock President Barkat Ali Khan said Mr Bukhari’s decision had hurt the sentiments of the alliance’s leaders and workers.

He said Mr Bukhari had changed his loyalty only for personal interests and financial benefits instead of any political cause. He said under political ethics, Mr Bukhari should have resigned from his MPA seat and then joined the PML.
