KARACHI: Ad draws public wrath

Published January 20, 2007

KARACHI, Jan 19: Speakers at a demonstration on Friday protested against the use of female models as a commodity in the advertisement campaign of a fertilizer company. The rally was organised by the Consumer Action Committee at the head office of the company.

The speakers warned that products of the company would be boycotted if the objectionable advertisement was not removed.

They criticized the company for spreading vulgarity and said the ads should be prepared keeping in mind the social values and cultural norms.
