LAHORE, Jan 18: The Lahore High Court on Thursday disposed of a petition seeking quashment of a case registered on charges of creating a law and order situation in the local bodies election in 2005.

The court directed petitioner Arif Ameer alias Tipu Trukanwala to approach the trial court where the case had already been submitted.

Gawalmandi police had registered a case against the accused on charges of creating the law and order situation by displaying weapons during the local election in 2005.

The accused, however, pleaded that the police had illegally raided his office, seized his licenced weapons and registered the case against him. He had further contended that the complainant police officer in the case was not competent authority to frame the charges.
