KARACHI, Jan 17: Seven ships including a car carrier with 2,500 units are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven ships were berthed: They are: APL Jeddah, Harmony, and Corin Thaikos to unload and load containers, Banglar May and Darya Yog, to offload and load general cargo, Swat, to unload crude oil and Shin Toku, to load ethanol.

Four ships, Harmony, Archon, Starling and Aktli departed on Wednesday, while APL Jeddah. Shin Toku, NCC Jubail, Swat and Hyundai Sprinter are due to sail out on Thursday. Cargo handling activity at the port was brisk where a total cargo of 97,525 tons comprising 18,394 tons of export cargo and 79,131 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Battery Park, with lube oil, Tai He, Calvin P Titus, Kota Perkasa, with containers, Positive Leader, with 2,500 cars, Star Mizuho to load 44,000 tons and Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load 25,000 tons of clinker, respectively.
