Demo against landlords

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 15: Hundreds of people belonging to schedules caste staged a demonstration and observed a sit-in at Shaheed Chowk of Khipro town on Monday in protest against powerful local landlords who they alleged had occupied their land and implicated them in false cases.

Over 300 protesters including women and children led by HRCP activists Gajandas Bheel, Jairam Das and Dhanraj raised slogans against the local Samejo landlords and blocked all the main roads leading to Khipro for three hours.

The rights activists Gajandas and Jairam said that the over 50 henchmen of the landlords attacked houses of Bheel community and occupied their land in Hathungo.—Correspondent
