KARACHI, Jan 15: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that priority is being accorded to the promotion of industrial development in Sindh, and pointed out that measures are being taken and efforts made to strengthen the infrastructure and ensure all basic amenities in the industrial estates across the province.

The chief minister was speaking at a meeting where he gave approval to the five million gallon water supply project for Nooriabad Industrial Estate on Monday.

He noted that additional water supply was a longstanding demand of the local industrialists. He hoped that the project would not only help meet their water requirement, but would also give a boost to the industrial activity and the national economy.

He said that the government was working on a plan to establish and develop industrial estates in all major towns of the province, and one such estate was being established in Deh Ghaggar, which would be spread over an area of 500 acres.

Besides, around 4,000 industrial units were already functioning to produce a big variety of goods.
