Euro climbs

LONDON, Jan 15: The euro edged higher against the dollar here on Monday, but fell to its lowest readings since August 2004 against the pound in response to higher British interest rates. The single European currency in late-day trade was at 1.2934 dollars after 1.2921 late Friday in New York. The dollar was, meanwhile, trading at 120.48 yen against 120.36 on Friday. The euro was changing hands at 1.2934 dollars against 1.2921 dollars on Friday.—AFP
