Big reshuffle in federal bureaucracy

ISLAMABAD, Jan 13: Several portfolios in the federal bureaucracy were reshuffled on Saturday with more restructuring likely to follow in the next few days. Salim Gul Sheikh, who was serving as tourism secretary has been made secretary of culture. Jaleel Abbas, who was earlier holding the office of secretary culture, has been made secretary youth affairs.

Saleem Mahmood, formerly holding the dual charges of youth affairs and women development divisions, would now look after only women division.

The offices of secretary for minorities affairs Mian Jamil and secretary for environment Muhammad Sharif have been swapped.

Naheed Hayder, who was serving in Karachi as the chairperson of the Pakistan Re-insurance Company, has been appointed as the secretary for ports and shipping.
