Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 13: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the Port Qasim where four ships scheduled to load and off-load containers, rice, chemicals, and HSD oil berthed at Qasim International Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours.

Three ships carrying containers, coal and LPG also arrived at the outer anchorage, says a press release.

A container ship and two chemical ships sailed during the period. They included CV Al-Wajba, Liquid Success and Yanaseni.

A cargo volume of 73,439 tons, comprising 63,289 tons imports and 10,150 tons exports, inclusive of containerised cargo, was handled at the port.

Three ships, M. T. Sima Paya, M. T. Anette Kosan and Maersk Arkansas, are expected to sail on Saturday.

Five ships, M. T Samho Jewelry, Buenos Aires, Gas Maluko, MSC Germany and Navigator Pluto, are expected to take berths. MV Lange Wapper is due to arrive at the Port Qasim on Saturday.
