KARACHI, Jan 11: A joint team of CPLC and police arrested two accused of kidnapping a boy for ransom here on Thursday. According to a CPLC statement, the boy’s father Qadir Hussain informed the police that his son Noman, 8, had been kidnapped on January 9 and he was receiving calls for ransom from the kidnappers.

Subsequently, an FIR 06/2007 was lodged at the Ibrahim Hydri police station. The kidnappers initially demanded Rs300,000 but following negotiations the ransom amount was agreed at Rs30,000 which Mr Hussain was supposed to pay on January 11.

The accused were negotiating ransom by making calls from different PCO’s, the investigation team apprehended them. Accused were identified as Saifullah and Fahad. The kidnapped boy was also recovered, the statement added.
