KARACHI, Jan 9: Four ships to load and offload containers, rice, chemicals and sunflower seeds arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three ships carrying containers and chemicals were accommodated berths. Berth occupancy fell to seventy per cent as seven ships, Austria, Nedlloyd Asia, Annie, Sierra, Alexander I, Ibn Bassam, Chemroad Nova, Eternal Pride and Ginga Cougar, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, edible oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 67,521 tons comprising 46,742 tons of import and 20,521 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only Eternal Pride left the port.
