ISLAMABAD, Jan 8: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will hold its ad hoc committee meeting on Jan 16 to give formal approval to the new constitution of the board.

This was stated by PCB chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf while talking with reporters on Monday.

“We want to see the new PCB constitution in operation forthwith.

“The ad hoc committee will give final touches to the constitution which will then be ready for implementation,” Dr Nasim said.

To a question about Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis’ resignation, he said the former Pakistan skipper talked with him on telephone after returning from Hajj and announced to step down though the PCB wanted to keep him till end of his contract in April.

“Waqar should have met me to discuss his grievances but he conveyed his final decision over telephone to me,” Dr Nasim said.—APP
