17 outlaws arrested

GUJAR KHAN, Jan 4: The local police arrested 17 outlaws including a proclaimed offender and recovered illicit arms and contraband from their possession, District Police Officer (DPO) Rawalpindi Saud Aziz said.

The DPO told newsmen that during the three days of Eid, the police force was put on alert to round up proclaimed offenders (POs) and court absconders.

The drive yielded results as Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Jero Ratial area wanted by the Gujar Khan police in two cases, was nabbed while seven court absconders including Khalid Mahmood, Mohammad Shamim, Mohammad Tariq, Mohammad Fiaz and Aamir Shahzad were also taken into custody by the police. — Correspondent
