KARACHI: Bikes without silencer banned

KARACHI, Dec 29: The Sindh government has prohibited the use of motorcycles with silencers/mufflers from December 30 to January 2, 2007 by imposing Section 144. The notification issued here on Friday reads, “Certain groups of youngsters are likely to create public nuisance/noise pollution at the New Year night by riding motorcycles without silencers which may create unrest and also disturb the public peace and tranquility in general, for which the prohibitions has been made within the territorial limits of Karachi”.
