KARACHI, Dec 29: The Pakhtoon Action Committee (Loya Jirga) has appealed to President General Musharraf, Governor Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim to direct the concerned authorities to provide alternate plots and compensation to affectees of Sultanabad and Intelligence Colony whose houses were demolished for broadening Molvi Tamizuddin Khan Road.

Addressing a residents’ protest rally, Gul Muhammad Afridi, Dilber Khan Masood, Jalil Shah, Haji Akram Durrani, Sher Hasan, Haji Abbas Achakzai and others said their community had been living in these localities for more than 50 years and rendered homeless due to the authorities prejudiced attitude.

They said they were not against development of the city and reconstruction of roads, but like other localities, they should also receive compensation and alternate plots.

They said if their demands was not addressed, the city government would be responsible for any situation that arose.
