13 faint after taking stale food

GUJRANWALA, Dec 28: At least 13 members of a family, including women and children, fell unconscious on Thursday after taking stale food in Kohlowala village, Aroop.

Reports said that victims were fainted immediately after having their lunch. They were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where doctors confirmed that all family members were the victims of the contaminated food. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.

LOOTED: Two armed dacoits deprived a government contractor of Rs750,000 in cash in Model Town here on Thursday.

Reports said that Qazi Faisal was going by his car after withdrawing cash from a bank on GT Road. Near Model Town, armed motorcyclists intercepted him and snatched cash from him and escaped. The contractor is the cousin of former MPA Mian Mazher.

Police have registered a case.

SEIZED: The customs intelligence seized a huge quantity of smuggled cloth after a raid at the General Bus Stand here on Thursday.

Acting on information, a customs team picketed at Rahwali and signaled to stop a bus. The driver after unloading the cloth at the GBS escaped with the vehicle.

However, the raiding party seized the smuggled cloth and registered a case against the driver.
