Dacoits kill one, injure two in Lahore

LAHORE, Dec 27: Robbers shot dead a youngster, injured two people and took away cash and valuables in strikes in the city on Wednesday. Sajid Mehmood, 20, had just come out of his office at Mehran Block in Gulshan Iqbal when two robbers on bike intercepted him. They shot him when they met resistance. He died on the spot.

Sajid was a resident of Toba Tek Singh.

Police, however, did not confirm the incident.

No case was registered till the filing of the report.

Two dacoits came to Dr Nadir Ali’s clinic on Bedian Road in South Cantonment and demanded cash and cell phone.

They shot at and injured Dr Nadir when he put up resistance and took away cash and a cell phone.

The injured was rushed to hospital.

Three robbers in a rickshaw intercepted Kashif near Ghousia Chowk, Shalamar, and snatched cash and cell phone at gunpoint. They also shot at and injured him over resistance and escaped.

The injured was rushed to the Services Hospital in critical condition.

Robbers barged into Sohail Iftikhar’s house in Defence, held inmates at gunpoint and took away cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs1 million.

Three robbers came to Prime Store at Allah Hu Chowk in Johar Town, held Farooq and employees at gunpoint and took way Rs180,000 valuables.

Two bikes intercepted Zeeshan and his wife on Muslim Road in Samanabad and snatched cash and gold bangles at gunpoint.

Two robbers deprived Mrs Rasheed of Rs15,000 and a gold chain in Shadbagh while unidentified men intercepted Hassan at Canal View in Hanjarwal and snatched cash, his cell phone and credit cards.

Two armed motorcyclists robbed Saqib at Ravi Block in Iqbal Town of Rs12,000 and a cell phone at gunpoint.
