KARACHI: 3 charged with kidnapping

KARACHI, Dec 26: The administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Tuesday, accepting the charge-sheet against three suspects in a kidnapping-for-ransom case, sent their case to the ATC-3 for trial.

Mohammad Ali, 24, Mohammad Danish, 22, and Jawwad, 18, are charged with kidnapping a businessman, Arif Karimullah, in the Darakshan area on December 2 and demanding Rs20 million as ransom.

Police said the accused, who were arrested after a shootout, released the victim after receiving Rs300,000. One co-accused, Ilyas alias Boss, is still at large.

The investigation officer of the case submitted the charge-sheet against the accused before Justice Amir Hani Muslim of the Sindh High Court for approval after completing the investigation.—PPI
