MOHMAND AGENCY, Dec 23: Teachers in the Mohmand Agency will hold a protest rally on Dec 27 against the non-payment of the teaching allowance to them.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, representatives of the teachers’ union said the accounts officer for the agency was shown the federal government notification number TM (F)T-10/HHD 2006, dated Nov 23, clearly directing the office concerned to pay the teachers the said allowance. However, they said, the high-ups of the office were unwilling to implement the order.

They said the protest rally would be held in front of the education and accounts offices to press the federal government to have its order implemented.
