PESHAWAR, Dec 23: The NWFP Culture Department, in collaboration with the Abasin Arts Council, on Saturday launched a three-day photo exhibition at the Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, to mark the birthday anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which falls on Monday. MPA Dr Zakir Shah performed the inauguration ceremony.

The pictures put on display at the exhibition depict the struggle of the Founder of the Nation and other leaders the Independence Movement such as Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Liaqat Ali Khan, Maulana Zafar Ali Khan, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Nawab Wiqarul Mulk, Nawab Salimullah Khan, A.K. Fazlul Haq, Nawab Mohsinul Mulk and Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar. Speaking on this occasion, Dr Zakir Shah said the Quaid was a great leader of the Subcontinent and due to his untiring efforts and sacrifices the Muslims of the region got united on one platform and got a separate homeland for the Muslims of India.

He said the Quaid had devoted himself for the service and rights of the Muslims of the Subcontinent, and in this struggle he never cared for his health also.

Referring to the Quaid’s love for the province, he said the great leader visited the province several times and this proved his love for the area and its people.—PPI
