TAXILA, Dec 22: Four persons died in different incidents in Wah Cantonment, Hassanabdal and Attock, police said. In the first incident a gardener was crushed to death by a speeding car (RLD 2041) on Mall Road. Police sources said that Aurang Zaib was working on road side when he was hit.
In another incident, a married woman committed suicide by setting herself on fire in Sector 8. Police sources said that Parveen mother of three was rushed to POF hospital where she died of burn injuries.
The reason for this action is stated to be domestic dispute as the husband of the deceased is stated to be an addict. Wah Cantonment Police is investigating the case.
OUR CORRESPONDENT ADDS FROM ATTOCK: Sher Afzal resident of village Chhab of police station Injra reported to local police that his brother Zafar Mehmood was killed on a petty dispute.
Zafar, a Samosa seller, was killed by fellow villager Mohammad Javed with his pistol because he told him that stock had finished. As a result he died on the spot, while the accused escaped.
While in another murder incident at Hasanabdal, four robbers shot a guard of a local CNG station dead during a robbery attempt.
Police said four armed men tried to snatch cash from the cashier of the station. When the guard put resistance, they opened fire killing him he on the spot.
Police have registered separate cases and are investigating.
GAMBLERS ARRESTED: Saddar police, Attock have arrested three gamblers Fazal, Hashim Khan and Shaukat Khan and recovered stake amount of Rs4,770 from their possession during a raid at village Dhoke Gama and registered a case against all of them.
